(no subject) [Apr. 4th, 2008|04:59 pm]
Well I dont know what has come over me but... well, Im back.

Occasionally lately Ive felt like putting 'what's new' somewhere
and havent really had a place for it as I dont really like the myspace
blog format.

So here I am. I bought a badge making machine on ebay today
after the company I had arranged to hire one through decided
they they wont hire it any more... when I turned up to pick it up!

Crazy shit, Ive had a few shit tests thrown my way this week
almost as if some divine intervention to test me and see if I can
keep my cool. Well I have and feel good for it.

What a sweet weekend [Jul. 9th, 2006|06:07 pm]
WARNING - 1 PARAGRAPH OF AUDIO NERDY TECH TALK:

Fully stoked I bought my new PC for pretty much 1 thing, running powerful audio plug-ins in realtime and its doing what I wanted. I just got Guitar Rig 2 of Dave and it runs flawlessly in realtime. It's got some insane guitar sounds, aswell as not so guitary sounds. Also got Drums From Hell 2 and that is pretty damn smooth aswell running off my eletric drum kit. Just gotta set up other techy nerdy details to get things just right. DEMO UP SOON

What's more got word of a Idle Hands Duo residency playing each Friday at the Northern Club, booked in for the next month.

Watched a video my Sis sent down from Gold Coast of their new place they have just moved into. Looks cool, looking forward to visiting at Xmas.

Enjoyed an overall very spontaneous and social weekend, meeting up with a new friend on Friday night, teachin Summer some guitar on Saturday arvo, in the evening had dinner and hours of conversation at the casino with ever groovy Tonestar before headed back to town to give a rather drunked D and Frech lifts home... and then a bit more socialising later into the wee hours.

Sleeep [Jun. 19th, 2006|03:33 am]
Man, what a lazy last weekend of holidays... I could almost say I slept in ALL weekend.

Hmmm, now that I think of it Im not sure what I did all holiday... I think it was just more sleep.
I guess some stuff: made 2 Savages audio promos, 3 Savages songs, went to groovy cock rock gig in Hobart, jammed with a new jam buddy, jammed with an old jamming buddy, hung out with a cute new friend and cute old friend at a cool multi band night at the Batty, stole my sisters nice bed when she moved to QLD 2 weeks ago, found some money I missplaced, bought some DVD's and a PS2 Eye Toy.

Hobart cock-rock [Jun. 5th, 2006|11:39 pm]
Had a sweet Saturday evening. Headed to Hobart with Frech and co in his new black ( = metal) vroomobile and caught some great 80's styled hard rock/metal bands. Taberah (guitarist looks just like me in year 10 but plays better than I do now... damn!) were great... Hammerhead even better close up than when I saw the end their set a while back at the Oak and LORD were well wicked. Eventhough the drummer didnt know to hit a snare with balls their guitarist looked like Slash so that made up for it.

For your enjoyment [Jun. 2nd, 2006|03:45 pm]
This week I had 3 really stupid accidents
that each could have sent me to the hospital.

---

1st was when I pulled the power plug for the vacume a little to hard
when it was caught on something. It suddenly came loose and I poked
myself in the eye with it. My mental dialogue was 'I can't believe I just did that'.

Next was pulling my doona up to get warm. I had tucked it in earlier
that day which I dont normally do. Again, it came loose all of a sudden
and I smacked myself in the chin biting my tounge. Mental dialogue 'Oww, not again'.

And finally was this little doozy where I had a pair of scissors get seriously stuck
on my finger for about 30 seconds.Mental dialogue 'No problem all I have to do is
gently pull my finger out... hmmm... *20 seconds later* come on you bastard!'

Shit always comes in 3's doesnt it! Haha

May Roundup [May. 31st, 2006|04:22 pm]
As per usual a summary entry... have been up to a bunch of different stuff:

LAST WEEKEND
- ZDF played death metal in a church at a charity gig for prevention of youth suicide... go figure!?!?
- Sister and her bf hoped on the Spirit Of Tas on saturday and moved to the Gold Coast. She's very home sick.
- Stole, well repocessed my sisters double bed which now sits very nicely in my room.
- Went out and some sunset photos after 2 nights of red sunset. Unfortunately this night wasnt the same but still got some good shots.
- Rewatched Hi Fidelity and Kung Pow, I forgot how good an asshole Jack Black plays and how funny Kung Pow is.

WEEKEND BEFORE
- Played a gig at casino for Toastmasters international speech competition which went very smoothly.
- As Im a member of the Lonny club part of my payment was a ticket to the story telling masterclass held on the Sunday by former world champion David Brookes. I was bloody good. I even got up the gaul to step outside my comfort zone and do a 3 min speech (story) to 150 people and get feedback from national judges... after 5 mins preparation! I essentially nailed it, felt damn good.

OTHER STUFF
- Xmen 3 was a let down and a pity, why both? A let down cos it wasnt very good and a pity cos it was let down by simple things.
- Went crazy yesterday and splurged $170 on 2 nice pairs of jeans and a wooly kinda suit jacket. So suave :)
- About to order my new PC in readiness of the school holidays starting next week. Sooo looking forward to it.
- After my last entry of 'non-jamdop' I caught up with Summer to see a movie and ended up jamming in her kitchen with her and her flat mate who plays flute of a things. Was very cool.

Screw you guys... [May. 16th, 2006|10:11 am]
[music |NIN - With Teeth]

Saturday I should have just stayed in bed...

SMS'd to jam:
Hamo - busy
Ratty - sick
Tim - no reply (snob)
Maly - away

SMS'd to meet up for dinner:
Bron - no reply till next day

Randomly visited:
Frech - not home

Arranged to come round and watch a movie:
Summer - pulled up outside, got a SMS from her sister needing to pick up her dog,
decided to crash cos I hadnt called asking wondering why she hadnt arrived!?!

------------------------------

So the highlight of my day was buying an Xbox dvd remote at Kmart. Haha.
Turned out to be quite a productive day actually, tidied up, watched some DVDs,
worked a little on a song and played drums for most the evening.

In the words of Cartman: 'Screw you guys, Im going home'.

sat/gig/pc [Apr. 16th, 2006|03:44 pm]
I spent the afternoon on Saturday making my LJ and myspace backgrounds look all funky and stuff. Take a look if your normally viewing my LJ on a 'freinds' page. Oh and add me to your myspace friends if you havent already.

http://www.myspace.com/andymuzic

Giged last night at the Oak with Ian which was good fun. Audience got so noisy in the second set that I had to put ear plugz in cos I was having toruble hearing myself! Cute gal came up and started talking towards the end of a break then Ian prompted me that we were due back onstage. She left before our next break so I didnt get a number. Argh, 'the one that got away'. No worries, Im sure she'll be lucky enough to bump into me again some time :) afterall this is Launceston.

Holidays rock, pity I havent got my new PC sorted yet. I so wanna just be a hermit for a few days and get into some recording. I might bite the bullet and buy locally purely so I can make use of it over the holiday.
